BAR's adoptable pets are featured below and on our PETFINDER page.

We often post them on our Facebook page also:  https://www.facebook.com/Borderanimalrescue

We have many pets in foster care and will post them when they're ready for adoption. Some of our pets can be visited in the Sierra Vista PetSmart adoption center, and some can be visited at their foster homes by appointment. See each listing below for details.

Diana is a four year old black shepherd/lab mix with a white spot on her chest. She is incredibly friendly. She loves to be close to you--couch, bed or just sitting around. She prefers being in the house rather than outside. She does not like wind or gunshots. She loves to play and will always greet you at the door with a wagging tail. She should not be in a home with small animals.

This happy girl is Pinkerton. Pinkerton is about two years old and about 50 lbs. She was found in Safford, AZ and never claimed. The family that rescued her off the streets had her spayed and her shots, but they were unable to keep her in their small space as they were having a new baby and already had several dogs.

Her current owners saw her on Facebook decided to give her a try. She is a very sweet dog, but needs to have a young owner who can take her running every day (little old lady walks are just not enough for this girl).

She is currently living in a rural area and is unfazed by chickens and turkeys, but ducks and wild rabbits seem to “trigger” her (though she has never harmed one).

She enjoys playing with other dogs, but is unknown with cats. She is very smart, willing to learn, and needs lots of exercise and play.

If you are interested in adopting this big, furry, loveable girl, Contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]

Homer is 6.5 years old, his birthday is may 4th, 2015. He is a pitbull/boxer mix. Up to date on all shots and neutered. He has lots of allergies and needs certain food and treats. He has separation anxiety and containment phobia so he can’t be left alone in confined spaces but usually does fine when left in a house where we has free roam. Otherwise he will tear up carpets and chew doors. He has a ton of energy and loves walks and playing. He loves nylabones. He needs his anal glands expressed every couple months and his ears cleaned. He loves baths. He loves to sunbathe and because of that he gets benign growths. We’ve had 2 removed, but he will most likely develop more. He’s weird about laying on the floor and usually won’t unless he has blankets. He gets along great with all adults and older children. He has shown aggression towards infants and young children. He has so much love and excitement and needs a home where he can get lots of attention and exercise.

He would do best in a home with no small children, no cats, and no dominant dogs.

He will come with his food, bowls, leash, muzzle, harness, favorite toys, favorite blankets, and all vet records and his allergy list. Contact us at 520-432-7964 to leave a message, or email us at [email protected]

Congratulations on these Happy Endings!

Meet Amara! Her birthday is May 14, 2020.

Amara is a 2 year old beagle mix who weighs about 46 lbs. She is a very sweet girl who loves to give hugs and cuddles, but she sometimes needs a little time to warm up to you, if she hasn't met you yet. She does very well with older children, though she hasn’t been around younger kids.

Amara is microchipped, spayed, and is up to date on her rabies/DAPPL/Bordetella. Amara is both house trained & kennel trained, and can walk well on a leash. This smart doggie understands the following commands... sit, come, down, wait, leave it, no, off & kennel up (meaning go into your crate.)

Ryder is an adorable, 5-month-old MinPin/Chihuahua mix puppy. He is a typical playful and mischievous puppy! His owner is looking for a new home for him, as she adopted him recently, then discovered she is highly allergic to him. Ryder knows how to fetch, sit, and come when called. He does really well for being a puppy. He likes to curl up next to you on the sofa and sleeps with you at night curled up next to you. The rest of the time, he likes to play. He is almost fully house trained. He is allergic to chicken, so eats beef foods. Ryder weighs 9 lbs, he is up to date on his vaccines, licensed (Huachuca City), microchipped, and has an upcoming vet appointment to get neutered and a booster shot. Contact (520) 432-7964 or [email protected]

These are Lulu and Copper!

BAR met a lady who has terminal cancer and needs our help finding homes for her precious dogs. These sweet doggies are good with kids & dogs but not good with cats. They are well behaved & when it is time to go to sleep you can say "go night-night”, they head straight to their little beds.

Lulu (top) is 10 years old born on 2/14/12. She is spayed and up to date on her shots. Lulu is part of a bonded pair with her brother Copper, so they need to be adopted together.  Copper (bottom) was also born on 2/14/12. He is neutered and up to date on his shots as well.
